The situation

In a castings foundry, melt chemistry, temperature, timing, and pouring data often remain inside furnace controllers or operator memory. Scrap attribution then happens after the fact, if it happens at all.

The hard part

Capture the smelting and pouring process end to end so every casting is traceable to its heat, and scrap has a root cause instead of a guess.

Furnace temperature, chemistry, and pour timing streamed off the controllers into one process record per heat.

Heat-level traceability

Each casting is linked to its melt data so a quality escape can be traced to the relevant heat and process history.

Rejections are correlated with process deviations to build a measured Pareto of scrap causes.
